XAML Swag
I have added some fun T-shirts, coffee mugs and laptop stickers for my fellow XAML fiends. My personal favorite is the xaml camel messenger bags.

The "XAML jockey" idea came from Sean Gerety.
Do you have an idea for cool Longhorn swag? Let me know.

Solitaire for Longhorn
I've always wanted to design a deck of cards.
Chris Sells is building a Longhorn based Solitaire application and has asked me to help him with the design work. This is a great opportunity for me to start designing for Longhorn. I have all the cards finished, I still need to create the card back, and the related UI objects. I also plan to update the face cards with some cool custom illustrations.

Hat Head
Chris asked me to illustrate some headshots of him for his Longhorn Developer Center. These started as pen on paper, I scanned the B&W drawings, converted them into vectors and applied color in Adobe Illustrator. I wasn't able to get Illustrator gradients cleanly into XAML as vectors. I'm running Illustrator on the WinHec build, and using the Windows Client print driver to "print to XAML". I could have gone back and replaced all the gradients, but instead I rasterized the vectors and then... converted back to vectors. Crazy I know, but It was a quick and dirty way to kill the gradients. There is some degradation with all the munging back and forth but it's ok for now.
